Elevate your outdoor spaces
As of 2025, all Garden Design projects are now managed by our sister company, Studio U.C — co-founded by Garden Life’s Richard Unsworth and renowned landscape designer Beck Colechin. Together with their team of experienced designers, Studio U.C specialises in garden transformations across courtyards, rooftops, balconies and larger outdoor areas.
From concept to construction, Studio U.C handles every stage of the garden design process — bringing expertise, creativity and care to every project.
For more than 20 years we have created some of the most beautiful gardens in Sydney.

Frequently asked questions
If you’re working with a few pots or smaller areas, Garden Life’s Styling service is for you. For larger
transformations, including courtyards, rooftops, balconies and in-ground gardens, the team at Studio
U.C will be there to support you along the way.
Our fees depend on the size of the project and the level of documentation that is required. Please contact us and provide a bit of detail about your project, then we can give you an estimate of the costs involved.
We work with all budgets and it depends on the scope of work. We believe that a well-designed garden will give you the everyday pleasure of a connection with nature and deliver value over many years.
Starting with an on-site consultation, we carefully consider your space and lifestyle requirements. On acceptance of our design fee proposal, we develop a to-scale concept plan to illustrate all the elements and features of your garden. A visual sample board of plant species, along with other design and structural elements accompanies all garden designs.
We don’t have a fixed style, rather we develop a design to suit the environmental conditions of your garden as well as the style of your home and your personal preferences. We are experts in challenging conditions, such as balconies and rooftops, as well as shady subterranean areas. Please view our Projects to see examples of our work.
Anytime is a good time to improve your garden. However, a garden renovation often coincides with a home renovation and many people consider their garden spaces after the renovation is complete. In our experience, you will get a better result when you plan the garden together with the design of the home. That way, you can maximise the opportunities of your new home design and can time the construction and installation of your garden with your renovation work.
