Subtropical Oasis

Taking cues from the existing personality and the unique spirit of this garden in Kirribilli, we set about creating a scheme that expanded its magic. The space reminded us of subtropical courtyards we’ve seen in Sri Lanka, designed by Geoffrey Bawa. Stonework was sensitively expanded and renovated, including the existing pond. New planting includes saw tooth banksia, native grasses, ferns, and beautiful flowering begonias. The client’s collection of garden art and sculpture gives the space personality and a charm all of its own.
