Mini Morocco
All three downstairs rooms in this inner city terrace open onto the courtyard, so it needed to seamlessly integrate with the interiors, while being a welcoming retreat. We worked in collaboration with Hugh-Jones Mackintosh Interior Design, to bring the indoors and outdoors together. We made the boundary wall a feature, using handmade, bottle-green tiles, laid in a herringbone pattern. We chose materials with an inherent softness – powdery warm terracotta, weathered timber and tumbled stone. Planting is a mix of soft and sculptural forms with Dwarf Date Palms, Narrow-Leafed Fig and cactus planted into the large terracotta pots.
