Moore Park
When we were asked to design and install a roof garden for the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) in Moore Park, we needed to put our heads together to see how we could transform this extremely exposed and harsh environment. The brief was to provide a sanctuary at work for the teachers and admin staff, where they could hold meetings, workshops or just chill out at lunchtime.
We used some really big LWC planters to give the area some serious scale, the 1500mm dia. bowls are planted with advanced Waterhousia and layered with interesting under planting. Boston Ivy is planted to grow over the new shade structure, and we used some interesting combinations of cylinders painted in Murobond’s Bridge Paint to add some subtle colour. All the plants with contrasting textures are proven tough performers and will thrive and give some protection from the heat.
